first day: en grisaille underpainting


second day: glaze color layers


third day: workup of color and form

fourth day: final painting 32"x38" oil 

four week long painting for Dorothy's class, sophomore painting.

    Personal question How do you feel about working en grisaille? Also this is some pretty kick ass class still life.

    I actually prefer working the under-painting in en grisaille. I mean I really enjoyed Erics NC Wyeth project last spring, so it was great doing it again for DJ's class. I just started another painting this way for Jays class this semester as well. I'll be posting the work in progress on that tonight. THANKS!!
